Board of directors

The Danish Growth Fund is managed by a professional board of directors. The board members are appointed by the Minister of Business. Each board member can be appointed for two periods of up to three years each.

To ensure a broad representation of professional insights within the areas of management, sales, financing and venture investments, industrial relations, technology, and the specific circumstances concerning small and medium-sized enterprises, the Board is assembled accordingly. Each year a minimum of six board meetings are held - with a minimum of one meeting in each quarter.


Claus Gregersen, chairman, is CEO of Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker A/S. He has also held the position of CEO of Carnegie Investment Bank and chairman of The Danish Securities Dealers Association. Moreover, he is currently chairman of Rungsted Sundpark A/S, Skodsborg Sundpark A/S, Skandinavisk Holding A/S and Skodsborg Sundhedscenter A/S as well as deputy chairman of Jeudan A/S. Additionally, he is a board member of Tivoli A/S Axcel Future, Simon Fougner Hartmanns Familiefond, Gyldendal A/S and Fritz Hansen A/S. Claus Gregersen was appointed chairman of the Danish Growth Fund's board on February 1st, 2018.

Lars Holst, deputy chairman of the board of Vestjysk Bank and member of the board in GrønlandsBANKEN. He has been an employee of Nykredit since 1987 and from 1995 to 2014 he held the position of credit manager of Nykredit. Furthermore, he was a managing board member of Nykredit's property company Kalvebod. He has previously been employed by Dansk Erhvervsfinansiering and Andelskassen. Lars Holst's former boardmemberships include Totalkredit og Max Bank under the aegis of Finansiel Stabilitet. Since 2008, he has also held a number of board member positions of various property companies. Lars Holst was appointed to the board of directors of The Danish Growth Fund on February 1st, 2015.

Ilse Jacobsen, entrepreneur and fashion designer of own name. Founded ILSE JACOBSEN HORNBÆK in 1993 with own shoe collection and launched her iconic rubber boots in 2000. Since then, the collections have been extended to include rainwear, clothes and accessories. Today, the lifestyle company consists of 24 concept stores in 5 countries as well as export to 25 countries. The lifestyle company has later extended its business further with the establishment of several flower shops, own luxury spa and restaurant KURBADET by ILSE JACOBSEN as well as a spa and beauty series, ILSE by ILSE JACOBSEN. Furthermore, Ilse is an investor and mentor on the TV program “Løvens Hule” by DR. Ilse Jacobsen was appointed as board member of The Danish Growth Fund on May 15th 2016.

Niels Nygaard, chairman of The Sports Confederation of Denmark/National Olympic Committee. From 1998 to 2014 he was the owner of Hotel Gl. Skivehus and he has previously held the position of chairman of HORESTA, Handels-, Transport- og Serviceerhvervene and Visit Denmark. Moreover, Niels Nygaard is currently chairman of A/S af 3. Juni 1986 (which among others owns Club La Santa on Lanzarote), board member of Danske Spil A/S and former elite runner. Niels Nygaard was appointed to the Danish Growth Fund's board on October 24, 2017.

Christian Scherfig, attorney and partner of Lundgrens, where he primarily works as an advisor on M&A. Christian has previously held the position of CEO of Dansk Design Center (2005-2011), chairman of Radio- og tv-nævnet (2003-2012) and deputy chairman of TV2 Danmark A/S (2001-2004). He is currently (among other things) chairman of Dansk Medie Invest. In addition, Christian teaches in board work and board responsibilities and he has extensive teaching experience from the University of Copenhagen and from further training of attorneys. Christian Scherfig was appointed to the Danish Growth Fund's board in February 2018.

Tue Mantoni, Chairman of the Board in Lakrids by Bülow, Danish AM Hub and JOE & THE JUICE. He has been the director of the English motorcycle manufacturer Triumph and Managing Director of Bang & Olufsen from 2011-2016. Tue Mantoni is currently a member of the board of VEGA and vice chairman of Soundbox. Tue Mantoni was appointed to the Danish Growth Fund's board in July 2018.

Frederik Stanunsbæk Hygom
, employee representative and daily Legal Advisor in the Legal Department. Frederik holds the degree of Cand.merc.jur from Copenhagen Business School. Through his work in the Danish Growth Fund's legal department, Frederik works across departments and products.

Jacob Bratting Pedersen, employee representative and partner in VF Venture. Jacob is a board member in 6 companies from the Danish Growth Fund's portfolio. Previously, he has been a partner in the venture company Northcap, COO in the IT security company Secunia, and has worked abroad for 5 years for the Danish Export Council. Jacob is a graduate of cand.merc.jur. from CBS and has taken executive courses at Harvard Business School, INSEAD and MIT.
