Vækstfonden in Brief

Vækstfonden is a state investment fund, which aims to create new growth companies by providing venture capital and competence. Since 1992 Vækstfonden has, in cooperation with private investors, co-financed growth in more than 4,000 Danish companies with a total commitment of more than DKK 7.7 billion. Vækstfonden invests equity or provides loans and guarantees in collaboration with private partners and Danish financial institutions. The companies which Vækstfonden has co-financed since 1992 represent a total turnover of more than DKK 25 billion and employ approx. 27,000 people all over the country.

... Vækstfonden is one of the largest investors in the Danish venture market with total commitments of DKK 3.7 billion to 20 venture funds.

Board of directors and management

Board of directors 

Walther Thygesen, chairman, is CEO at Thrane & Thrane A/S. Prior to that he was managing director at Hewlett-Packard Denmark. Walther Thygesen is member of the board at several companies and chairman of the board at Hewlett-Packard Denmark as well.

Jørn Kildegaard, vice chairman, is the former managing director at GN Store Nord A/S, LK A/S, Foss Electric A/S and Brüel & Kjær A/S. Jørn Kildegaard is member of the board at a number of companies and chairman of the board at Axcess A/S.

Conni Simonsen is vice president at Grundfos Management A/S. Conni Simonsen was with L.M. Ericsson in Denmark for 15 years, most recently as managing director.

Caroline Søeborg Ahlefeldt is managing director at OeO, a Danish strategy and innovation consultancy. Caroline Søeborg Ahlefeldt has an extensive background in IT and was co-founder of Mouse House, an internet company.

MANAGEMENT

Christian Motzfeldt, CEO.
Chief Executive Officer of Vækstfonden since 2001. Christian Motzfeldt has worked for Danmarks Nationalbank, the European Commission, Danske Bank and the Danish Ministry of Economics and Business Affairs. Graduated from the University of Manchester (MA Econ 1985) and the University of Aarhus (MSc Econ 1986).
